LAS Recomp: Link's Awakening static recompilation for PC and Mac

Category: Games & game engines · Type: Reconstruction

Target: The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Switch, 2019) · static recomp · Windows / macOS / Linux

Static recompilation of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening (Nintendo Switch, 2019) into a native Windows, macOS (Apple Silicon) and Linux application, with ultrawide and higher-resolution options, prepared shaders and a built-in randomizer, recompiled locally from the owner’s extracted game files.

Relationship
Independent reimplementation

Evidence scope
Upstream README states a native static recompilation of Link’s Awakening for game versions 1.0.0, 1.0.1 and 1.1.0, that no game files, assets or fonts are included, and that recompilation runs locally on first launch; it discloses that nearly all code was written with AI (Claude Code). No REA involvement is claimed.

Know before you try
Requires your own legally obtained copy (v1.0.0, 1.0.1 or 1.1.0). Bugs and crashes are possible; some randomizer seeds may be unsolvable and wide aspect ratios still have graphics issues. Windows/Linux need an AVX2/FMA CPU and a Vulkan 1.3 GPU; Intel Macs are unsupported; Linux ARM is experimental. We have not independently tested it.

Status
Beta; Windows, macOS (Apple Silicon) and Linux builds
