TotK Recomp: Tears of the Kingdom static recompilation for Windows and Linux

Category: Games & game engines · Type: Reconstruction

Target: The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (Switch) · static recomp · Windows / Linux

Statically recompiles The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (Nintendo Switch, 2023) into a native x86-64 application for Windows and Linux, built once by a setup tool from the owner’s own game files, with resolution, frame-rate, HDR and ultrawide options.

Relationship
Independent reimplementation

Evidence scope
Upstream README states a static recompilation of Tears of the Kingdom into a native x86-64 application, that no game files are included, and that setup builds the game locally from the user’s own copy. It discloses that most code is written by AI coding agents under the maintainer’s direction. No REA involvement is claimed.

Know before you try
Visual bugs and crashes are still expected. Needs a Vulkan 1.3 GPU with VK_EXT_external_memory_host, an SSE4.2 CPU and about 36 GiB free during setup. The built game is for personal use only. We have not independently tested it.

Status
Early development; playable on Windows and Linux per README
