An open-source re-implementation of Chris Sawyer's Locomotion that aims to improve the game similarly to OpenTTD/OpenRCT2, using the player's own original assets. The upstream README describes an open source re-implementation of Chris Sawyer's Locomotion and states that as of December 2025 the game has been reimplemented in C++. It notes the original was x86 assembly on an RCT2-derived engine and that OpenLoco does not share codebase with OpenRCT2. No REA involvement is claimed. Original Chris Sawyer’s Locomotion assets are not included (Steam/GOG purchase required). Multiplayer and higher map/vehicle limits pending a new save format; still bound to CSL SV5/SC5 save limits until NSF. macOS builds are unsigned. Submitter reviewed public README/license only; we have not independently tested it.
