App reimplementation
BIMCraft: Autodesk Revit workflows
Category: Desktop & productivity apps · Type: Reconstruction
Target: Autodesk Revit workflows · Rust / egui
An open-source, clean-room take on the Autodesk Revit building-modeling workflow in pure Rust: connected levels, walls, doors, floors, rooms, roofs and MEP elements, plans, sections, sheets and a 3D view, IFC import and export and an experimental .rvt reader, with every action exposed as a command for agents over MCP or the CLI.
Relationship
Independent reimplementation
Evidence scope
The upstream README describes a clean-room Rust implementation of Revit-style modeling, a per-area status table, IFC2x3/IFC4 support, a fenced .rvt reader documented in docs/rvt-provenance.md and MCP/CLI control. Source review does not establish clean-room legality or behavioral parity; no REA involvement is claimed by this listing.
Know before you try
Early, fast-moving project developed on Linux; the macOS app has not been tried by hand. Revit .rvt import covers a subset of elements and lists what it leaves out, since .rvt has no public specification. We have not installed, run or audited it.
Status
Early development; packaged for Windows, Linux and macOS
